Souljaboy tricks people to downloading his song:

  • Hello, this is a new thing I wanted to try on the channel. I tried to make it as interesting and well made as possible. Let me know what you think : ) This also took me the better part of a week and a half to make combing through research and articles.

  • I remember back in highschool when me and my buddy found out about limewire. We dropped a sugar cube of acid and started downloading over 200 songs. He told his parents not to use the house phone for a few days. This was when dial up was the internet remember this was in 2000. After he said that the acid kicked in and we were laughing and laughing. We went out to a party came back and only 1 song downloaded out of 200 funniest shit ever the good old days an that's my story of limewire.

  • The nostalgia. At the time most didn't know it was illegal or we just didn't care lol. I had a big binder to hold all the the CDs i burnt the songs on. The downloading was super slow when I had dial-up until switching to DSL.Had to ignore house phone calls or it would bump me offline and ruin everything

  • I was just a kid when Limewire was around, but I never really used it since my father advised against it because of the possibility of getting infected. After time passed and I had a better understanding of viruses/malware I had a pretty decent experience downloading things. I remember only a couple times I remember getting my system infected and rather than try to remove infections with virus scanners, I simply just wiped the hard drive and reinstalled windows, then restore my files from a backup. I used to work at a small computer shop a number of years ago and the majority of the services I did were simply to remove viruses and show the customer what they can do to prevent it from happening again.

  • A Belgian comedian has mocked the piracy ad before, saying something along the lines of: "If stealing a car was just tapping it, and an exact copy's on my driveway in 15 minutes, i'd totally steal a car." and "If i find the PIRACY'S A CRIME guy, I'll kick him to death." the last one's extra funny since with movies in Flanders, the dub's usually done by a dutchman, which is as jarring as stereotypical Canadian is to the average American.

  • I have a question: what do these suits actually accomplish? These are working class people downloading audio files, assuming its okay because everyone does it, then they are slapped with a fine that amounts to that person's lifetime earnings and then some. Imagine a college student getting slapped with a fine like this, I would actually kill myself. I'm on loan almost 20k a year to go to the cheapest reputable college i could find, and then finding myself another 250k in the red for innocuously downloading music? i can't imagine the mental strain that would put on me.

If you're one of the many people that enjoy using them wire and wish it was still around for your music downloads or whatever else there's another alternative out there right now it is called LimeWire Pirate Edition. It looks and works just like LimeWire pro and you can use it right this second. You just have to download it and run it.

Edit #1: Trying to shut down P2P file sharing services won't stop the so called Music Industry from losing billions more as it's still losing money day after day even after shutting down said file sharing services.

  • I don't see how the music industry lost a lot of money...some money..but certainly not a trillion dollars. I downloaded a lot of music off limewire and it wasn't really any music that I would have bought anyway..I still bought a few c.ds and those c.ds were the ones I would have bought anyway no matter if limewire existed or not.. See I would also download bands I thought I might like so I didn't waste my money buying a c.d I didn't like. I remember using limewire and still buying owning every c.d the white stripes had out at the time...I liked the entire c.d of their music so felt that it was worth 15 bucks...but when it came to bands with only one good song I wasn't about to buy their c.d anyway but would download that one song on limewire. I also still paid for bands that were consistently good and had greatest hits albums out like I remember buying the cars greatest hits and buying candy o on c.d...i imagine not a lot of people weregoing to buy 3000 c.ds off the shelves of one hit wonder bands either...and therefore the music industry lost billion s of dollars because everyone downloaded Barbie girl or the peanut butter jelly song.
